Crazy Ass Matter

(James Downham, Mark Smith)

For some strange reason he feels his left arm floating
For some strange reason he feels the levitation
“Am I crazy?” he asks
“Is it me?” he asks
“What do you think? What do you see?”
I just turn and think out loud:
Why does any of this matter?

People round me talk, talk, talking
I’m all smiles but I’m think, think, thinking
I am the owl, who, who, who are you?
Why do you think that I, I care about you?
And this crazy, crazy ass matter!

From some sick turn of events she’s becoming compulsive
With her behaviour and the washing of her hair
“Is it heavy?” she asks
“Will it fly?” she asks
“What do you think? What do you see?”
I just turn and think out loud:
Why does any of this matter?

People round me talk, talk, talking
I’m all smiles but I’m think, think, thinking
I am the owl, who, who, who are you?
Why do you think that I, I care about you?
And this crazy, crazy ass matter!

Why should I concern myself
With problems that concern themselves
With people who aren’t all there?
Someone tell me, why should I care?
Why should I concern myself
With problems that concern themselves . . .

People round me talk, talk, talking
I’m all smiles but I’m think, think, thinking
I am the owl, who, who, who are you?
Why do you think that I, I care about you?
And this crazy, crazy ass matter!
